It is because of the kindness and generosity of you, our volunteer, that we are able to continue helping the older adults in our community. While many of our assistance comes from the very same people we serve, The Shepherd’s Center of Raytown warmly and graciously welcomes volunteers of all ages and abilities for one-time or ongoing opportunities.
We have one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunities available to all who are interested.

Older Adults
Our volunteers are everything. They govern our organization, organize and lead programs and activities and provide generous assistance for our varied services. We are unique in that many of our volunteers are people we were fortunate enough to have been able to assist in the past, cultivating an ongoing and irreplaceable relationship.
Students
Our volunteer opportunities are not restricted to older adults. In fact, community service is a valuable experience for students, especially. Whether you’re in medical school, a Girl Scout troop, or anywhere in between, we greatly appreciate any help and time you would be willing to give to our organization. Join us for our twice-yearly yard cleanup or perhaps more frequently in a driving or office capacity. Your time and skills will always be put to good use and be spent brightening the day of an older adult in the community.
Groups
Instructors and leaders, we would be honored if your groups dedicated community service and volunteer time to The Shepherd’s Center of Raytown. This experience will teach your children and young adults the value of compassion and empathy for others and will instill the notion that helping one another is the easiest path to a happy and health community. We encourage you to foster the many gifts your children have, and to join us in our efforts to serve the senior community as a volunteer.
